Jems Blog Hop: Gift Bags

Welcome to the Jem's Blog Hop! I hope you've been enjoying the wonderful projects so far, it's great to see what everyone's been up to during 2016 :) One of the things that I've enjoyed most this year is making little gift bags for people, so I thought I'd share some with you today.

First up is a couple of Thank You bags filled with chocolates that I made for colleagues who had gone out of their way to help me at work - it's always nice to show appreciation for a job well done!

Next, I decided to spoil the Trick or Treaters this year with some decorated bags filled with sweets. They went down very well!

Finally, I created an Advent of presents for my sister. I can't tell you what's in them because she's only opened the first two so far and I don't want to give the surprise away!

Thanks for joining me on this month's Blog Hop! Use the buttons below to hop on to the next stop, the lovely Gill, or back to the previous blog, the equally lovely Sam :)

Jems Blog Hop: 'Love' Layout

The months seem to be flying by at the moment, it doesn't seem two minutes since the last blog hop! This month the Jems are showcasing some of the fabulous goodies in the seasonal catalogue, which is just Christmas crafting heaven. But ... if you're like me, and not ready to admit that Christmas is just round the corner, then you'll be very happy to know that the products in the Autumn-Winter catalogue are extremely versatile! I've used the Warmth & Cheer range to scrapbook a photo that I took in June - not bad eh?!
I started by applying Delightful Dijon ink to a sheet of whisper white cardstock, using the Seasonal Decorative Mask to give a lovely knitted pattern. I layered up a square and several strips of different papers from the Warmth & Cheer range, added a paper doily and some Warmth & Cheer washi tape and then my photo. To finish off the page I added some decorative pearls, burlap ribbon, Very Vanilla lace trim. The title is cut from gold glimmer paper using the Sunshine Wishes thinlits.
Thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoy the rest of the blog hop, the talented Jems have made some amazing projects!

Don't forget that you can purchase all the items for this project in my

Jems Blog Hop: 'Love' Gift Bag

It's blog hop time again! This month the Jems are creating gift packaging, which is right up my street - I don't think a gift is complete without pretty packaging, people always know which presents are from me at Christmas!

I love the idea of giving a card in a pretty gift bag, rather than a plain envelope, so I set to work on a plain glassine gift bag with lots of Stampin' Up! supplies.
I hope you enjoy the rest of the hop! Follow the links below to visit the lovely and talented Sarah next :)

You can find all of the supplies to make this project in my online store :)

Blog Updates

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

I've made a few updates to my blog recently, which anyone viewing on a mobile version might have missed so I thought I'd take a couple of seconds and point them out.

There are now links to my online store and a pdf version of the Stampin' Up catalogue in the sidebar, as well as links to my Facebook, Pinterest and eBay pages.

I've also added an extra page which can be found in the menu bar at the top of the home page, which includes information on ordering Stampin' Up! products online, as well as how to order a copy of the catalogue through me.

Hopefully all the information is straightforward and makes sense, but if you have any questions either leave them in the comments or email me at

Jems Blog Hop: 'Hello' Layout

It's that time again! You should have come to me from the lovely and talented Sarah-Jane, but if you didn't, not to worry, you can join the blog hop at any time and follow along until you end up back where you started. Last month's hop was so inspirational, you'll definitely want to see what everyone's been up to this month!

This month's theme is the new 2016-18 'In Colour'; a collection of five colours that co-ordinate beautifully and are part of the Stampin' Up! family of colours for two years. I thought I'd go back to my first love for this month's theme, and use the colours to create a scrapbook layout.

I started with an A4 sheet of Whisper White cardstock, and stamped the background using the 'Gorgeous Grunge' (told you it was my favourite!) and 'Awesomely Artistic' stamp sets with four of the five In Colours: Dapper Denim, Peekaboo Peach, Flirty Flamingo and Sweet Sugarplum. I love the ink splatter stamps - perfect splatters every time and no mess!

I matted my photo with a square of Peekaboo Peach card and adhered it over the background stamping. I coloured two strips of white glitter tape (which is now retired, but I would think the Glimmer Paper would work just as well) with Dapper Denim ink and tucked them under the matted photo. I die cut the word 'hello' from Dapper Denim card and a butterfly from Vellum card which I added to the bottom corner of the photo, along with a few loops of metallic silver thread. Finally, I added a few white and silver sequins over the stamped ink splatters.

And that's it! A fairly simple layout, but I'm pleased with it :) Your next stop is the fabulous Sarah - enjoy the rest of the hop and I'll see you soon!

In love with the In Colours? You can find the collection here :)

Butterfly Frame

I've had this square white box frame sat next to my desk for some time now, waiting for the right project. Inspiration struck over the weekend and I set to die cutting several sizes of butterfly from the Butterflies Thinlits dies and the Bold Butterfly Framelits dies, using Vellum, Whisper White and Mint Macaron cardstock, and papers from the Birthday Bouquet set. I added a strip of glitter tape, some metallic thread and silver rhinestones to add interest to the layers, and then popped the finished item in the frame. So simple, and yet so effective!

Today is the last day to order retiring products from the current Stampin' Up! catalogue, before the new one goes live tomorrow (1st June 2016) so if you want to get your hands on these beautiful papers click here!

Jems Blog Hop: 'Enjoy Your Day' Card & Gift Bag

Hello! If this is your first time visiting my little blog, welcome!

Becoming a Stampin' Up! demonstrator has had the added bonus of introducing me to a wonderful bunch of ladies known as the Jems, and I'm delighted to be part of their monthly blog hop :) I hope you've been enjoying all the fabulous projects so far, there are plenty more to come!

This month we're highlighting retiring products (those from the current catalogue that won't be available in the new catalogue when it's released in June). I chose to use the 'You're So Lovely' card kit and stamp set to make a birthday card and co-ordinating gift bag.

This kit was one of my first Stampin' Up! purchases, and I love how easy it is to get fabulous cards for very little effort!

I've added a couple of extras to the kit - two panels of card in Whisper White and Mint Macaron which I've layered over one of the pre-printed cards from the kit; the ink is Mint Macaron and Black Archival; and I stamped the ink splatters behind the butterfly using the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set, which is one of my absolute favourites.

It's been so lovely to have you visit, but now it's time to move on. I do hope you'll come back soon :)
If you like my projects, let me know in the comments, I'd love to hear from you!

Stampin' Up! Endless Birthday Wishes

One of the things that I love most about Stampin' Up! is how brilliantly everything co-ordinates, it makes throwing together a quick card so easy! I had a couple of scraps of cardstock in Pear Pizzazz and Pool Party left over from another project, just enough for two small cards (these are around 3x4"), so I grabbed the co-ordinating ink pads and the Endless Birthday Wishes stamp set and literally minutes later I had two cute cards! I even used the Envelope Punch to make perfectly sized envelopes. Perfect when you want a quick and simple project :)

Stampin' Up! Balloon Celebration Birthday Card

I've been making lots of cards again recently, so I thought I'd share one with you today that I've created using the Stampin' Up! Balloon Celebration stamp set and Balloon Bouquet punch.
I started with a white card blank, which I stamped directly onto. The Balloon Celebration stamp set includes a couple of gorgeous cloud stamps, and I used the smallest of the two to create my background. I used Pool Party ink and the second stamping technique* to stamp the clouds randomly on the card. I then added the balloon strings and Happy Birthday sentiment in black archival ink.

On a separate piece of white card I stamped a series of balloon images using black archival ink with the outline stamp, and Daffodil Delight ink with the filler stamps to build up the balloon images. I then punched my stamped images using the Balloon Bouquet punch, and added them to the card above the balloon strings. A bow stamped in Daffodil Delight was the perfect finishing touch!

Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you like my card :)

*Second stamping technique: ink up your stamp and stamp once onto scrap card before stamping a second time onto your card blank. This gives a paler, less saturated image.
