King of Cats

Just a quick post today, too much to do and not enough time! This is the last layout that I did with my January kit from The Sampler; I'm down to scraps now and eagerly awaiting my February kit!

2011 Diary

Every year I get a plain boring diary from work, so this year I thought I'd use some of the scraps from my January Sampler kit (yes I've used it that much that I'm down to scraps!) and make it look a bit more interesting. I avoided bulky embellishments as it will be in and out of my bag all of the time, and I want it to last. I love that the red in the Pink Paislee paper matches the red of the diary perfectly.
This is on my latest post at The Crop Spot, the blog for The Sampler, along with a couple of layouts. Head on over and have a look at some of the lovely projects that the rest of the DT have been making :D

A little corner of Paradise

I loved this little cottage that we stayed in last summer, it's a traditional thatched cottage in Porlock, Devon which has been converted by the owners into a B&B. The room we stayed in was lovely, breakfast was gorgeous, and they were happy to have Mojo in the room - what more could you want? I fell in love with the front door, and have been waiting for the right papers to do this photo justice. I managed to get my hands on a past Sarah's Cards Kit, this is the one from July, and it was just perfect :D

Everything used on the layout is from the kit: the papers are Pink Paislee 'Bayberry Cottage' - even the name is perfect!

Just The 2 Of Us

This is my take on the January Sketch Challenge over on The Sampler blog. The photo is of me and my husband on our wedding day, converted into black and white so that I could use the lovely bright papers from the The Sampler January kit. I am completely in love with this stripy Bazzill cardstock, and love the way the white letters really pop against the dark background.
Here's the sketch:
The rest of the DT have been busy creating too, have a look at their fabulous takes on the sketch:

All of the papers and embellishments are from The Sampler January Kit, with the addition of a corner rounder punch and Martha Stewart Butterfly punch.
If you feel inspired by the sketch and want to join in, then head on over to The Sampler, you could win a fantastic prize!

Cornish Surf

The January kit from The Sampler is so versatile; here's another layout using the kit, which looks completely different to my last layout - I love that. I'm still working my way through our honeymoon photos, these were taken on the beach at Loe Bar, which was a 20 minute walk from the cottage that we stayed in - bliss!

I used this sketch from Sassy Lil' Sketches:

All of the products used in this layout are from The Sampler January Kit, available here.

league of {extra}ordinary gentlemen

So, my first kit from The Sampler finally arrived, and I got stuck straight in! I love the mix of bright and vintage papers and embellishments, and the range of different options that it gives. For my first layout I decided to concentrate on the vintage options to complement this photo of my husband's friends, which was taken at our wedding. I converted the photo to sepia to give a vintage feel, and then layered up some of the papers, both over and under a stiched circle.
The lovely white American Crafts Thickers came in the kit, but I chose a title with far too many 'e's, so I had to improvise. I used some fabric AC Thickers and inked them with Antique Linen distress ink so they toned in with my colour scheme.

I made this calendar embellishment using items from the kit. I've posted a quick tutorial over on The Sampler blog if you fancy having a go at making one of your own.

In Her Element

It feels like such a long time since I did this layout, as I was the second player in the latest round of the Scrap Whispers scraplift game. The big reveal has finally taken place over on the Scrap Whispers blog, so I can share it at last! I'm also really chuffed to be able to say that I was on the winning team - yay! Go Team One! And a big thank you to our team leader, Rosey, for keeping it all together and making sure we finished, cheers Rosey!

All of the supplies are from the Sarahs Cards September kit, and the chipboard house was coloured in with Promarkers. I absolutely loved the little crochet flowers that came in the kit, and now I've used them all I feel the need to purchase some more!
Scrap Whispers are about to start a new game, so if you fancy joining in then head on over and sign up!

The Sampler January 2011 Kit

Wow! What else can I say? My kit's on its way, but hasn't made it to me yet, what with all the postal disruption recently things still seem to be moving pretty slowly, and I was ok with that until these sneak peeks landed in my inbox - come on Mr Postman, bring me my Sampler kit! It looks like just the thing to get my New Year scrapping off to a great start :D
If these images have got your mouth watering too, head on over to The Sampler for a full list of kit contents :D
