Amazing You Layout with the Petal Passion Suite

I've been doing lots of crafting for a reason recently - you know what I mean, whether it's making cards for a commission or to send to someone in particular, or creating a project for a themed blog hop, you're creating with a specific purpose in mind. Last weekend I decided it was about time I did some crafting just for the sake of it, sitting down with no fixed outcome in mind, just pulling out supplies and seeing what I can make from them. This was the result!

I dug out one of my favourite photos of Mojo and decided to do a layout using the Petal Passion Suite. I layered some white card over the black and white striped paper from the suite. I used Lemon Lime Twist and Berry Burst ink and an Aqua Painter to create a watercolour wash, which I then added detail to using the splatter stamp from the Waterfront stamp set (which I can see being very regularly used in the future!)

I die cut a couple of the leaf/branch pieces and a border piece from black card using the Petals & More Thinlits and layered these behind the photo. I then added a heart sticker from the Petal Passion Memories & More Card pack, and a few black and gold sequins.

To create the title I took a piece of scrap white card and scribbled liberally with the brush end of the Lemon Lime Twist, Berry Burst and Fresh Fig Stampin Write Markers to create an ombre effect. I then used the Sale-a-bration Celebrate You Thinlits Dies to cut the title from the coloured card.

You can purchase everything you need to make this layout from my online store - don't forget to use the February online code to earn a freebie from me. The full supply list is at the end of this post. Thanks for calling in, hope you enjoyed today's project!

Let's Celebrate Card using Waterfront

A colleague of mine celebrated his birthday today, so I took the opportunity to have a play with the Waterfront stamp set. He's a fantastic watercolour artist himself, so I was taking a bit of a risk but I'm happy to say he liked it! He even asked me if I'd painted it myself, which is praise indeed! I stamped the images onto watercolour paper, which really does add to the hand-painted effect. I love how easy it is to build a gorgeous scene with just a few colours and the stamps, I can see this set getting a lot of use in the future!

I used the fab Amazing You stamp set from this year's Sale-a-bration catalogue for the sentiment. There's also a lovely flower stamp in the set, and it's free when you spend £45. Sale-a-bration runs until the end of March, so you've still got plenty of time to get your hands on the set!

Thanks for stopping by, it's lovely to see you! I'd love it if you left me a comment to let me know that you've visited, and maybe even show me some of your own creations? You can also find me on facebook as Scrapping Mojo Designs if you fancy joining me there. I'm going to do a small giveaway when I reach 100 page likes :)

Thank You for Being a Friend Card

I needed a really special card to send to a friend who has been absolutely amazing recently. I knew I couldn't go wrong with the Lots of Happy card kit, not only does it contain everything I needed to make a really beautiful card, it had exactly the right sentiment in the stamp set. I used the watercolour pencils that come in the kit to colour the die cut images. All I added to the kit contents are the black and gold sequins, which just add that extra touch.

I just love this kit, and I particularly love that it's so easy to customise. You can stick to the kit contents and make a set of really lovely cards in gorgeous colours, or you can use any of the alternative colouring options available to completely change the look of the card by changing the colours. Watercolour pencils, Stampin Blends, or aqua painters/blender pens with the ink pads will all work beautifully, and will open up endless possibilities for colour combinations.

You can buy the kit and any of the colouring options direct from my online store, just click on the shop online button below. Don't forget that we're still in Sale-A-Bration, so a spend of £45 will earn you a freebie from the SAB catalogue.

Jems Blog Hop - Celebrating Love

It's the first Saturday of the month, and that means it's time for the Jems blog hop :) I love taking part in this hop, the Jems are an incredibly talented bunch and I get so much inspiration from them every month. I hope you do too!
This month we're all about celebrating love. You should have come to me from the lovely Sam, whose projects are always fabulous!

I decided to create a card using the Petal Passion Suite, with a little help from the Painted Love vinyl stickers and the free Sale-a-bration Shimmer Ribbon.

I started off with a background using one of the gorgeous designs from the Petal Passion designer series paper, and then cut down one of the larger cards from the Petal Passion Memories & More card pack, making sure to keep the circular design central. I added one of the gold vinyl stickers from the Painted Love suite, and then layered a length of the Basic Grey shimmer ribbon. Next I die cut the leaves from the Petal Palette bundle from black card and layered over the ribbon and the central circle. I stamped the little bird image and the 'I just love you' sentiment from the stamp set in the Petal Palette bundle onto white card, and used the corresponding dies to cut them out. I adhered both using stampin' dimensionals to give them a bit of lift, and finally added a couple of hearts; one from the sticker sheet in the Petal Passion Memories & More card pack, and one from the Painted Love gold vinyl stickers. And done!

I hope you like my card as much as I liked making it! I've included a supply list below if you'd like to have a go at making your own. Your next stop on the blog hop is the fabulous Sarah, who has a fantastic project for you :)

Happy Birthday Card: Mixing Kits and Stamp Sets

A colleague was looking for a special birthday card, she wanted something bright and colourful with a simple 'happy birthday' sentiment. That was my cue! Bright and colourful made me think of the 'Oh Happy Day' Card Kit so I combined one of the card designs from the kit with the 'happy birthday' stamp from the 'Happy Birthday Gorgeous' Stamp Set. Perfect! My colleague loves it, and I'm sure the recipient will too!

If you fancy recreating this card, then now's the perfect time to do it! The kit's fabulous by itself, as it contains everything you need to make 20 unique cards, but adding the stamp set gives you so many more options. And, as it's sale-a-bration, purchasing both together means you're eligible for a freebie from the sale-a-bration catalogue - it doesn't get much better than that!

Is your New Year's Resolution to take up a hobby?

If it isn't, it should be! Hobbies are a great way of relaxing and taking your mind away from the stresses and strains of daily life, by allowing you to be creative. Some people focus on one hobby, and some people (like me!) have several. Papercrafting is my main love, both scrapbooking and cardmaking, but I also enjoy yarncraft aswell, both knitting and crochet. I'm also a keen photographer and I've even had a go at art journalling - the possibilities are endless!

If you're not sure how to start then a kit can be a great introduction to a new hobby. The card above, for example, was made using the 'Oh Happy Day' Card Kit from Stampin' Up!
Kits give you everything you need to make a project, and often come with instructions to help you get started. So what are you waiting for? Jump in and go for it, you won't regret it!

If you're interested in cardmaking or scrapbooking but you're not sure where to start then get in touch by email scrappingmojodesigns@gmail.com, or leave a comment and I'll do my best to help :)

Jems Blog Hop - Lots of Happy Kit

Hello! Welcome to my stop on the Jems Blog Hop! This month we're showcasing some of the lovely new products that are on offer in the Stampin' Up! Spring Summer Catalogue 2018 - and there are so many lovely new products! Regular visitors will know how much I love a good kit, so it probably won't surprise you to know that I've chosen to showcase the Lots of Happy Card Kit :)

I needed to make a very special birthday card for my very special Mum, so I started with the kit and then added a few extra bits to make it even better! I also used a few bits from the kit to decorate a mini pizza box to hold her gift.

I used one of the Sale-a-bration offerings to create the background for the pizza box - it's one of the Sweet Soiree Memories and More cards cut down to fit the box. You can see what else is available during Sale-a-bration here.

This is normally where I would send you off to the next blog, but I'm afraid you're at the end! If you'd like to go back to the beginning, you'll find the lovely Julie here.

If you're based in the UK and looking for a Demonstrator get in touch! Email me at scrappingmojodesigns@gmail.com, or shop online with me here. Thanks for stopping by!
